Description
The extractor performs the complete cycle of determining the bitumen content of an asphalt mixture: washing the sample with solvent in a drum, separating the mineral filler in a centrifuge, drying the mineral fraction and distilling the solvent — with no operator contact with vapours.
The closed-loop recovery system returns up to 95% of the solvent for reuse, reducing operating costs and harmful emissions. Built-in scales record the sample mass before and after extraction, and the controller calculates the binder content automatically.
After extraction the mineral fraction is fully suitable for sieve analysis, so a single test yields both the bitumen content and the grading of the mixture.
