Description
The automatic extensometer measures specimen strain during tensile testing with class 0.5 accuracy to EN ISO 9513. On command from the machine controller, the motorized mechanism brings the measuring knife edges to the specimen and automatically retracts them before fracture, protecting the instrument.
The interchangeable gauge length of 25–100 mm is set without tools; the measuring travel of up to 25 mm allows determination of the total percentage elongation of reinforcing steels, including the yield plateau and the uniform elongation Agt.
The extensometer integrates with IT-ST series machines and feeds its signal to the software for calculating the modulus of elasticity and the proof strength.
