Description
The ductilometer determines the ductility of bitumens and the elastic recovery of polymer-modified binders: three figure-eight briquette specimens are stretched in a thermostatically controlled water bath at a constant speed until the binder thread breaks.
The 1000 mm carriage travel allows highly elastic PMBs to be tested without interrupting the test. The ball-screw drive maintains the stretching speed without jerks, while the digital controller displays the elongation with 0.1 mm resolution and stores the results for each specimen.
A built-in refrigeration unit and heater maintain the water temperature at 25 ± 0.5 °C (0 °C in the version with enhanced cooling). The stainless steel bath is fitted with a drain valve and covers.
